Abstract

Informed consent is an ethical and legal obligation for physiotherapists in respecting patient autonomy, yet compliance still shows a gap between regulation and practice, particularly in private practice settings. This study employs a literature review method to analyze the level of physiotherapists' compliance, the factors influencing it and its implications for patients' legal protection. The findings indicate that compliance is influenced by internal factors (knowledge, ethical attitude, work experience) and external factors (SOPs, workload, supervision, patient characteristics). Suboptimal informed consent implementation weakens patients' legal protection and risks medical disputes, thus requiring stronger regulation, education and supervision.
